The Indian Chamber of Commerce in Italy participated to the SUSTMOVIE event during the 80th Venice Film Festival
The Indian Chamber of Commerce for Italy gave its patronage to the event titled SustMOVIE, which was successfully held on August 31, 2023, on the occasion of the 80th Venice International Film Festival, at the Spazio Cinematografo of the Hotel Excelsior in the Venice Lido, under the curatorship of contemporary art critic Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico, among other scientific, artistic and cultural director of ICCI.
The initiative, organized by the Ethicando Association of Milan and the international communication platform Betting On Italy (BOI), in collaboration with the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo and Cinematografo magazine, consisted of a round table discussion, which focused on the sustainability of contemporary cinema, with the involvement of various personalities from culture and institutions, journalists, artists, and entrepreneurs connected in various ways to the film world.
«SustMOVIE is a moment of confrontation among academics, institutions and film industry professionals – said art critic Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico – A film is sustainable not only insofar as it is “green,” that is, produced with respect for the environment and the human resources used, but also insofar as it succeeds in combining the creative activity of the various artists involved in its production with the frontiers of new technologies (artificial intelligence, etc.) and the need to still obtain an artistic product of social edification and territorial enhancement».
ICCI Secretary General Luciano Pettoello Mantovani took part in the Discussion along with other dignitaries, including Sen. Roberto Marti (President of the 7th Permanent Commission of the Senate of the Republic – Culture and Cultural Heritage, Public Education, Scientific Research, Entertainment and Sports), Davide Milani (President of the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo in Rome), Cristina Bolla (President of the Genova Liguria Film Commission), Severino Ricci (delegate of California Surf Museum in Oceanside, CA – USA), Carlo Poggioli (President of A.S.C. – Italian Association of Scenographers Costume Designers).
The event also enjoyed the patronage of the California Surf Museum in Oceanside (CA – USA), several territorial public bodies (Municipality of Nardò, Municipality of Gallipoli, Province of Lecce), as well as the media support of the magazines E-cinema, Beesness, Arti e Spettacolo and Italy2California. It is, moreover, part of a series of scientific conferences involving various stops in Italy and abroad (Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Senate of the Italian Republic, Italian Chamber of Deputies, State University of Milan, Comillas Universidad Pontificia).
