Milan, November 4, 2025. The Indian Chamber of Commerce in Italy (ICCI) was pleased to participate in the “India–Italy Business Synergies” roundtable held in Milan this week—an initiative organized by EXP Legal and Ahlawat & Associates, with the support of AICE – Associazione Italiana Commercio Estero.
The event brought together entrepreneurs, investors, legal experts, and internationalization professionals to discuss practical pathways for Italian companies looking to enter and expand in India.

The session provided a dynamic platform for discussion on how to effectively launch, manage, and support operations in India, incorporating the legal, tax, and financial considerations essential for successful cross-border expansion.

ICCI’s Contribution

ICCI was represented by its Secretary General, Luciano Pettoello Mantovani, who delivered the opening remarks. In his address, he highlighted the growing partnership between Italy and India, as well as the increasing number of Italian companies exploring India as a strategic destination for long-term investment, production, and commercial expansion.

The roundtable featured valuable contributions from:

  • Uday Singh Ahlawat, Managing Partner of Ahlawat & Associates, who joined from New Delhi to present a comprehensive overview of India’s legal and business environment.
  • Representatives from EXP Legal, including Stefano Rossi and Alessandro Rossi, whose ongoing collaboration plays a key role in strengthening the legal and commercial ties between the two countries.

Topics Covered

Participants explored several key themes, including:

  • Regulatory and corporate frameworks for investing in India
  • Tax and administrative requirements for establishing operations
  • Financial instruments and strategic options for cross-border expansion
  • The new SIMEST India initiative, which offers low-interest loans and grants to support Italian companies pursuing internationalization projects

A Strong Turnout and Constructive Dialogue

The event drew a large crowd, featuring lively discussions and meaningful networking among companies and professionals focused on India’s growing role in international business. It confirmed that India is not only a rapidly expanding market, but also a key strategic partner for Italian companies seeking scale, innovation, and global competitiveness.

ICCI extends its warm thanks to EXP Legal and Ahlawat & Associates for organizing this timely initiative, and to AICE for supporting its implementation.

ICCI remains committed to guiding Italian companies in their approach to the Indian market and to promoting initiatives that strengthen the economic, legal, and cultural ties between Italy and India.
